Mangrove Cuckoo is one of the most sought after species in Florida. South Florida is the only state where you can find Mangrove Cuckoos.

It’s an awesome species to see! They breed in coastal Mangrove swamps as well as Hardwood Hammock.

Unlike Eurasian Cuckoos, they build their own nest and raise their own young.

When they nest they typically lay two light blue eggs. Not long after the babies hatch they leave the nest and are feed on branches. I was lucky to see this bird early in the morning.
