Pileated Woodpecker the largest non extinct North American Woodpecker can be found in most of North America.  With the exception of Mexico and the central part of North America.  I’ve been able to watch a current nest, it only took one week to make two cavities. Both the male and female excavate the holes.  I believe one is a roost hole, the other for nesting.  What an awesome woodpecker to be able to watch!
