Itinerary can vary slightly, it all depends on the birds.
Day 1
THIS IS A VERY POPULAR TOUR AND FILLS FAST! It is also a very small group tour that also makes it popular!
First night, May 9th. First day of birding, May 10th.
We will meet in the lobby of the hotel at 6:30 am. We will spend the day near the Everglades. The birds that we can expect so see today include
Purple Gallinule – Wood Stork – White-Crowned Pigeon – Anhinga – Common Peafowl – Florida Red-shouldered Hawk – Bald Eagle – Shiny Cowbird – Short-tailed Hawk
We’ll also see numerous wading birds, such as Roseate Spoonbill, Great White Heron, and Least Bittern.
Day 2
We will meet in the lobby of the hotel at 6:30 am. Our day will be spent in the Miami area looking for the specialties such as
Spot-breasted Oriole – Red-whiskered Bulbul – Mitred Parakeet – Red-masked Parakeet – White-winged Parakeet – Yellow-chevroned Parakeet – Monk Parakeet – Blue and Yellow Macaw – Chestnut – fronted Macaw – Eurasian-Collared Dove – Common Myna – Snail Kite – Swallow-tailed Kite – Cave Swallow – Burrowing Owl – Limpkin – Gray-headed Swamphen – Egyptian Goose – Scaly-breasted Munia. We will see other introduced exotics species as well.
We will then travel north for our night in Vero Beach.
Day 3
We will spend the day in the Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area in search of the following birds.
Snail Kite – Florida Scrub Jay – Short-tailed Hawk – Whopping Crane – Red-cockaded Woodpecker – Brown-headed Nuthatch – Snail-Kite – Crested Caracara – Wild Turkey – Sandhill Crane – Burrowing Owl – Bachman’s Sparrow
We will spend the night near Vero Beach.
Day 4
Today we will bird areas of Central Florida. We will focus on
Florida Grasshopper Sparrow – Black-bellied Whistling Duck and Fulvous Whistling Duck – Limpkin – perhaps Snail Kite
From here, we will work our way back to the Florida City Area for the night.

Day 5
We will meet in the lobby of the hotel at 6:30 am. We will travel down the Florida Keys, the birds we can expect to see are
Mangrove Cuckoo – Black-whiskered Vireo – Gray Kingbird – Magnificent Frigatebird – White-crowned Pigeon – Shiny Cowbird – Antillean Nighthawk
We will also try for
Cuban Yellow Warbler (also called Golden Warbler) and Caribbean Strays.
We will spend the night in Marathon.
Day 6
We will bird some of the wonderful parks in Key West looking for migrants and hopefully a rarity. The Red Junglefowl has been present here for 150 years and is plentiful in the lower keys. Night in Key West.
Day 7
We will work our way back to Florida City birding along the keys. We should see more White-crowned Pigeons, Gray Kingbirds, Black-whiskered Vireo and we can try for Mangrove Cuckoo if we haven’t seen it yet. This will be our last day.
